Our Mission
The Crownsville Conservancy, Inc. seeks to preserve the trees, plants, animals, and natural communities that represent the character of this environment by preserving the parcels of land and water they need to survive.
It is our hope that doing so will preserve the integrity of the surrounding communities of Anne Arundel County and the greater contiguous Chesapeake Bay region by creating natural buffers to development.
Living in this beautiful environment, we can’t help but have a great appreciation for the outdoors already. Think of the boating trips you may take with family and friends down the Severn, or picnics on the shoreline, or bird watching from your back porch. In so many ways we revert back to nature for enjoyment. All these activities are dependent on the amount of green space in your area. It is important for many key reasons you may not realize.
A study by the University of Illinois College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Team shows that more trees encourage people come outside. The increased interaction between neighbors enables stronger, better relationships to be forged, children to be nurtured, and a sense of community to develop.
